Synopsis - Just Roommates

…I padded barefoot into the kitchen for a drink of water, wearing nothing but a pair of panties and my oversized sleep shirt—the kind that practically swallowed me whole.

I opened the fridge, grabbed a chilled water bottle, and took a long sip straight from it. That’s when I heard it—the unmistakable sound of someone clearing their throat.

Startled, I spun around, my heart leaping into my throat. In my panic, I nearly emptied the entire bottle on the intruder. A male intruder, to be specific.

He hissed as the freezing water hit him, but my brain barely registered his discomfort. Because, as ridiculous as it sounds, I was momentarily distracted by how annoyingly gorgeous he was. My thoughts scrambled, and before I could fully process what was happening, I did the only logical thing—I tried to scream.

But he was faster. His large hand clamped over my mouth, muffling my voice. I should have been terrified. Instead, my brain chose to notice how good he smelled. Not the time, Leah.

Instinct kicked in. I drove my knee upward—hard.

With a pained yelp, he doubled over. I didn’t wait to see the damage. Instead, I bolted, practically flying up the stairs to my room and slamming the door shut behind me.

By morning, the entire encounter felt like a weird, half-remembered dream. Had I imagined it? A burglar who smelled like expensive cologne? Unlikely. But if he wasn’t an intruder… then who was he?

Leah Henderson ends up becoming roommates with her best friend's stepbrother. Their first encounter as roommates isn't exactly smooth—especially for Peter O'Brien.

Will they be able to put that disastrous first meeting behind them and learn to live together?

And what about their insistence that they're just roommates? Is that really all they are, or is there something more between them?

Find out!
